Arsenic and Old Lace – 14 April 2025

The last meeting of our 2024 / 2025 season is entitled “Arsenic and Old Lace” and will be held in Kingswear Village Hall at 7:30pm on 14 April 2025.

Our speaker will be Geri Parlby who has a first class honours degree in History and Theology and, a Masters in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute. She is a former Fleet Street journalist and has also been responsible for film PR. She has been lecturing for the past 18 years both in the UK and internationally.

Geri will tell us about the very dangerous craze that hit Victorian society and in which William Morris (of wallpaper fame) was involved. The story has local relevance since it includes reference to the mines of southern Devon.
