The pulpit is richly carved and has 4 carved panels depicting Our Lord, with 2 disciples, on the walk to Emmaus. In the first we see the beginning of the open countryside beyond the dome of the temple and the outskirts of Jerusalem. In the second we see a palm grove. The third is outside Cleeopatris’s house: there is the door and the blockwork of the walls. In the final scene the risen Jesus is blessing the bread and 2 windows pierce the wall. The signs of touching are obvious.
